Houston, TX – August 5, 2019. The Ellwood Closed Die Group (ECDG) has completed construction of its latest, climate-controlled close-tolerance finish machine facility at its Ellwood Texas Forge Navasota (ETFN) facility. The new operation, concludes a year-long initiative to integrate operations of the former Ellwood Texas Forge and Machine (ETFM) with the Ellwood Texas Forge Navasota to improve customer-focused strategic solutions and to better leverage engineering, and management resources. The new state-of-the-art machine facility represents the latest chapter in ECDGs continued expansion by adding finish machine capabilities to Ellwood Texas Forge Navasota’s already robust operational portfolio. “This is the next step in our evolution to become a complete forging solutions provider to our customers,” said Valli Senthilnathan, President, ELLWOOD Texas Forge Navasota.

Capabilities of the machine facility include turning, milling, drilling, boring, and single-point threading operations, with up to 14,000-sqft serviced by several overhead bridge cranes. Additional investments in the facility include instrument-duty compressed air system, lab-quality environmental controls, and LEED lighting to ensure top-notch quality within a modern, clean and safe working environment. Products manufactured in this facility will provide solutions to the aerospace, construction, marine, and oil & gas markets. About the Machine Facility Ellwood Texas Forge Navasota and the Ellwood Closed Die Group

Ellwood Texas Forge Navasotas machine facility is one of two closed die forging companies owned by the Ellwood Group Inc., headquartered in Ellwood City, PA. Located in southeast Texas along with its’ sister company, Ellwood Texas Forge Houston, these facilities comprise the Ellwood Closed Die Group. Cornerstone assets between the two plants include a computer-controlled 80 Meter-Ton Counterblow Hammer, a 16,000-Ton Screw Press, and an 11,000-Ton Multi-Ram Hydraulic Press. These are bolstered by conventional power hammers, smaller hydraulic presses, and mechanical presses to forge near-net closed die forgings out of carbon, alloy, stainless steel, nickel, and titanium.

Each forge facility also has in-house die sinking and tool making, raw material cutting, heat treatment, testing, and both rough and finish machining capabilities. Both forging facilities possess AS9100D, IS09001:2015, and NADCAP certifications. Ellwood Closed Die Group primarily provides finish machining to the forge facilities. Primary markets served include, Aerospace, Construction, Defense, General Industrial, Marine, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation.
